Overview

Travel Altimeter shows altitude, location, and related outdoor information. This policy describes what data the app processes and how third-party services are used.

Information we collect

• Location — GPS coordinates and altitude when you allow Location access. Used for elevation display, Smart Fusion, optional background tracking, and Offline Trip Mode (Pro).
• Motion & fitness — Device barometer (altimeter) and, during trip recording, motion activity to improve battery use while logging track points.
• Photos — Only if you choose a custom background; the image stays on your device.
• Purchases — Subscription and in-app purchase status is handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment card details.
• Device & usage data — The app may use analytics and advertising SDKs (see below).

Data stored on your device

• App settings (units, background, compass, altitude source).
• Offline trip recordings (Pro) stored locally until you delete them.
• Widget data shared via Apple App Groups between the app and widgets on your device.

Third-party services

• Google AdMob — May show ads to free users. Subject to Google’s ad policies and consent choices (GDPR/EEA users can change ad privacy choices in Settings).
• Firebase (Google Analytics / Crashlytics) — May collect app usage and diagnostic data to improve the app.
• OneSignal — Push notifications if you opt in during onboarding.
• Apple — App Store, StoreKit subscriptions, and device permissions.

Advertising and tracking

On iOS, you may see Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can decline cross-app tracking and still use the app. Ad personalization depends on your choices and region.

Subscriptions

Travel Altimeter Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
